As the hot and heavy season of The Bachelor comes close to its end, the show's longtime host Chris Harrison revealed the hometown dates set to air on the next episode don't go as well as hoped for Juan Pablo Galavis.

Audience Favorite Sharleen Quits 'The Bachelor'

During a media call Wednesday, Harrison revealed, "As far as the hometown dates go, you see like a [Sean Lowe] or any of these guys kind of roll in and it's really smooth sailing. And this season isn't such smooth sailing for [Juan Pablo] when he goes into these homes. He's really vying for the approval and permission from these parents to possibly marry their daughter."

A promo for the upcoming episode revealed that Clare Crawley's parents definitely do not approve of Galavis or the process of The Bachelor. Her mother confessed that they did not feel comfortable giving their blessing.

'The Bachelor' Contestants Jealous of Clare?

Crawley and the rest of the remaining contestants, Nikki Ferrell, Andi Dorfman and Renee Oteri, have also turned the tables on Galavis when it comes to figuring out what they want.

Harrison said, "The exotic dates is probably the most pivotal episode that we've had this season. It really is a shakeup of kind of the foundation of everything that's going on. And again, it's usually kind of the Bachelor figuring things out, but this season...it seems like it's been the ladies questioning and figuring things out as of late. And that will continue through the exotic and the overnight dates."

Galavis could be the one in the hot seat considering he is known for confusing his contestants and sending mixed messages as far as what it is he really wants. While many have said a language barrier comes between the former Venezuelan soccer star and his contestants having an understanding, Harrison clarified that it is indeed a "Juan Pablo barrier."

He said, "I think it's a confusing, tough thing...being a single dad myself now and trying to do the right thing with your family's eyes and your children's eyes watching and all that. And then at the other end of the spectrum, you're also trying to date and you want to be yourself, you want to let go...It's just tough for these women to try and figure out [where he stands]."

Be sure to see how the hometown and exotic dates play out on the new episode The Bachelor. The two-day special starts Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
