Ronda Rousey may be taking on some acting roles, but it doesn't mean it will interfere with her fighting career.

"I'm a fighter, not an actress," Rousey told the media last week, according to The Los Angeles Times. "I know there's a short shelf life in MMA, though, so I like having more ways to make history."

The 27-year-old will have a role in the film version of the popular HBO series Entourage. She will also appear in the film adaptation of "The Athena Project," a counter-terrorism novel published in 2010.

"I've been avoiding talking about movies for so long," Rousey also said. "It's more a peripheral thing to me now. I want to keep my focus on the fight."

On Saturday, Rousey will also get in the ring with Sara McMann at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. McMann is an unbeaten former Olympic wrestling medalist.

This will be the third time Rousey will fight to protect her championship belt, which she was awarded last year.

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White also said she doesn't worry about Rousey shifting her focus from fighting.

"Doesn't trouble me at all," White said. "We've had fighters do films. It wasn't their future. I do believe this is Ronda Rousey's future and I believe she can handle it. She's a workaholic, super-strong mentally, and whatever she sets her mind to, she nails."
