The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, will play Ari Gold's (Jeremy Piven) new assistant, Deadline reported on Thursday. The position was formerly filled by Lloyd (Rex Lee), who moved up to rep. Fans of the show know that being Ari's assistant is not an easy task so it will be interesting to see how Mescudi's character handles the abuse.

Mescudi's film career is certainly flourishing as he's also added several other credits to his name.

On March 14 he will appear in the video game film adaptation of Need for Speed alongside Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul. The project is one he seems very proud of.

"Need For Speed is its very own beast. Anybody trying to make a connection w any other franchise is reaching," Cudi tweeted on Feb. 3. "Trust me when I say I wouldnt be a part of anything thats not fresh as hell and new. Being a follower will never be me."

He also finished filming Two Night Stand, which is expected to come to theaters sometime this year.

Yet, he hasn't left his music behind. The Pursuit of Happiness rapper will drop some new tunes this month with the release of his fourth studio album, Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon and he's certain his fans won't be disappointed.

"Satellite Flight is an album now :) thats what u get for being so patient w me. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna f--king LOVE!" he tweeted.
