As Apollo Nida's fraud trial gets closer, more is coming out about his marriage to The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Phaedra Parks, who has also been accused of fraud at one point, with claims now surfacing that thy wed one another out of convenience.

Kenya Moore Believes Apollo is 'Absolutely' Going to Jail

Parks is currently suing a woman named Angela Stanton for her claims that Parks spearheaded a previous fraudulent scam that landed Stanton and Nida behind bars. In a new deposition for that particular lawsuit, Stanton's ex-boyfriend has said that Parks tied the knot with Nida to prevent him from being able to testify against her and save herself.

"Before Phaedra used to talk to Apollo, she used to talk to this dude named DJ Nubbs...that was Phaedra's boo," Justin Cody said in the deposition. "And then Apollo came along and she wasn't really...I don't know their relationship...But all I know [is] right when the [first fraud] case came, all of a sudden she just popped up and married him. She was still dealing with DJ Nubbs and she popped up and married Apollo..."

Phaedra Parks In on Husband's Fraud Scam?

Stanton also wrote that belief in her book, Lies of a Real Housewife, that Parks "even married our partner in crime [Nida] so he could not ever testify against her."

Parks is currently suing Stanton for defamation.

In previous court documents Stanton has claimed that Parks and Nida "were making fraudulent insurance checks...we were all involved in the federal racketeering scheme against the federal government...Phaedra's schemes were clever and elaborate. She never ceased to astound each and every time she approached me with an assignment...I often found myself excited about learning her tricks of the trade. Phaedra was this crooked attorney who knew how to commute crimes against the federal government."

Parks was never charged for Nida and Stanton's original fraud scheme and as of now there is nothing that connects her to his most recent charges.
