Jeff Goldblum will buy tickets to watch Jurassic World despite not being cast to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm.

It's official now, Goldblum is well out of the running to be cast in the upcoming installment of Jurassic Park, it seems like he wasn't being considered to begin with. In a recent interview with I Am Rogue, while promoting his new Wes Anderson directed film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, the actor spoke about not being cast in the film.

Goldblum had previously expressed interest in reprising his role as Malcolm in Jurassic World but he seems to have come to terms with the fact that he is not going to be in this one.

"I don't know anything about Jurassic Park so it seems that the ship is sailing and I'll buy a ticket to see it," he said.

The actor worked with Steven Spielberg on the first two installments of the film and suggests that he was very satisfied with the experience.

"I was very happy to do the two I did and to work with Mr. Steven Spielberg," he stated.

Recently, Director Colin Trevorrow seemed to have hinted at the fact that Goldblum might be coming back for the fourth installment.

The director posted a picture of a huge cut-out of Goldblum as Malcolm from the first film, propped up on a chair at the Jurassic World offices, on his Twitter account.

While speaking with IAR, Goldblum also kind of confirmed that he will be reprising his role as David Levison in Independence Day 2. The actor revealed that he had just returned from a meeting with the producer and director of the film.

"I had a dinner meeting a while ago now with Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, who I enjoy very much," he said.

"I haven't read anything, but they're cooking up something that they sound passionate about. So, I'll see if that occurs. That would be fun," he added.
