Supernatural's Dean Winchester accepted the Mark of Cain without reading the terms and conditions, and the hunter will soon realize there are several caveats that accompany the murderous mark.

Which Dead Winchester Is Returning To 'Supernatural' In The Misha Collins Directed Episode?

Dean (Jensen Ackles) accepted the Mark of Cain from the Father of Murder (Tim Omundson) in order to wield the First Blade against Abaddon (Alaina Huffman). As soon as the elder Winchester handles the weapon in "Blade Runners," a noticeable change will come over him.

"Imagine Dean taking a low dose steroid," Ackles explained to Winchester Radio. "It's starting to affect his emotional state, it's starting to affect his physical state. He's getting a lot more short tempered and he's feeling a lot more strength. He's getting a lot less emotional about situations and becoming more of a tool of hunting and it's starting to take its toll on him and you'll see that as the season starts to wrap up."

Sam & Dean Winchester Get Help From A Men Of Letters On 'Supernatural', Is It A Flashback?

New episode stills from "Blade Runners" depict Dean with the weapon, and he definitely appears more powerful and slightly more terrifying than usual (see gallery above).

Unfortunately, Ackles is unable to comment on how far this newfound power will take Dean and whether or not it could possibly lead him astray.

"Where that is going to end up, I'm not sure," Ackles told Winchester Radio. "I've only read up to episode 20 so we've still got three more episodes beyond that I'm obviously waiting to see how it all plays out. But as of right now it's just kind of building up."

Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The series will not broadcast a new episode on March 11, and "Blade Runners" will air on March 18 (see video below).
