Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o may have landed her latest role starring in Star Wars: Episode VII.

The 31-year-old reportedly met with the film's director J.J. Abrams a few weeks ago to discuss the prospect of playing the female lead. The film is slated for release Dec. 18, 2015.

The flick is set to include other big names, including Star Wars veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.

Adam Driver from the HBO show Girls was also allegedly cast as the main villain.

The meeting between Nyong'o and Abrams is said to have taken place right before she snagged the Oscar for best supporting actress for her work as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave.

The star delivered a touching and emotional speech upon winning the award in February telling the crowd, "No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid."

The Mexican-born actress was raised in Kenya and graduated from Yale University School of Drama in 2012. She played in the MTV mini-series Shuga from 2009 to 2012. This year she also had a small role in Non-Stop alongside Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore.
