The competition has yet to truly heat up on The Amazing Race All-Stars, but as the teams begin entering the second half of competition, alliances could change the entire game.

Alliances Increase Level of Competition?

Alliances between teams could be crucial at this point in the race, as no one is particularly considered weak, and the dreaded U-Turns are still yet to happen at this point.

The remaining teams are: Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran (The Afghanimals), Jet and Cord McCoy (The Cowboys), Jessica Hoel and John Erck, Dave and Connor O'Leary, Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly, Herbert "Flight Time" Lang and Nathan "Big Easy" Lofton, and Jennifer Wayne and Caroline Cutbirth (The Country Singers).

Afghanimals Turn Against Cowboys With U-Turn?

One potential alliance fans may need to watch out for is one between The Country Singers and Afghanimals, who have made their friendships known via social media.

The first hint of an alliance between these teams surfaced in December 2013, when Cutbirth tweeted a response to Temory's tweet about being cast as a reality TV husband. In her response, Cutbirth referred to Temory as "hubs" and finished the tweet with a kiss emoticon.

Recently, a photo surfaced on Temory's Instagram account which showed him reuniting with both Cutbirth and Wayne, further hinting that the teams could have formed an alliance while on the race.

"Reunited with my sisters! #family @amazingrace #lovethesegirls," Temory captioned the April 9 photo.

If the two teams did align, the Country Singers could have joined in an effort with the Afghanimals to try and get the Cowboys out of the competition. If they did, then they turned against the very same guys who gave them an Express Pass which allowed them to stay in the competition after encountering a difficult Roadblock task during the second leg.

The Amazing Race airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
