"Candy Shop" rapper 50 Cent was in a car accident early Tuesday morning in New York City, according to media reports.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was hospitalized with possible neck and back injuries after the vehicle he was riding in was hit by a truck in New York City, according to a fan site, Thisis50.com.

The two cars were driving along the Long Island Expressway in New York City around 3 a.m. when the truck driver's "load shifted," causing him to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the rappers SUV.

"He was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was treated for minor neck and back injuries. He was released this morning and is doing fine," 50 Cent's rep confirmed to the site.

Thisis50.com posted pictures of last night's accident scene and images of the rapper on a stretcher with his head and neck immobilized.

The rapper recently sat with Oprah Winfrey on her "Next Chapter" show to discuss his life, fame and their infamous feud. 50 Cent had previously said that Oprah only caters to "white middle class women" which she took offense to. That all seems to be in the past now for these stars.

"Great conversation about rap culture, fatherhood, love, and life," Oprah said of their conversation together on her website.

"He describes himself as two people - Curtis and 50 Cent - I was fascinated to hear his description of them both. Really glad I did it. Really liked him," she added.
