For the past couple of months or so, the popular Netflix political drama House of Cards (HoC) has been in the midst of a tax credits battle between its production company, Media Rights Capital, and the State of Maryland.  Now that the show creator, Beau Willimon, has revealed that he and his team of writers are nearing the finish line for the final scripts, it is increasingly imperative that MRC decides where it will film Season 3. Plus, apparently Netflix is already thinking ahead about a fourth season.

Netflix Makes The Decision For 'House of Cards' Production Location?

Reportedly, the tax incentives disagreement between MRC and Maryland, and MRC's apparent inability to decide where the show will film, has put HoC's Season 3 release date in jeopardy. While the show was originally scheduled to release in early 2015, there are rumors claiming that the tax disparity has delayed production until this summer, in June.

What's more, according to reports, the MRC Senior Vice President Charlie Goldstein has shared his concerns and thinks that, if the tax matter is not settled in a cordial manner, then drastic changes may have to occur in regards to production, which would ultimately affect the release date.

On Thursday, a report noted that Goldstein had previously stated, "In the event sufficient incentives do not become available, we will have to break down our stage, sets and offices and set up in another state." Moreover, with the show seemingly in limbo before the third season even begins filming, some fans are said to be wondering if there will even be a Season 4. Purportedly, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, is very optimistic about the idea of a fourth season of HoC and stated, "Our intent is that the show keeps going for sure. It was a 26-episode commitment. It was not our intent that it just run for two seasons."
