Agents of SHIELD's Grant Ward owes his freedom to the Clairvoyant - quite literally, too.

Ward's Past Revealed, Coulson Infiltrates Cybertech In New 'Agents of SHIELD' PHOTOS

The super powered ABC drama has revealed very little about Agent Ward's (Brett Dalton) past, but in light of his recent unveiling as a HYDRA agent the series will devote an episode to showing just what makes the killer tick during "Ragtag."

Gathering tidbits from "The Well" and "The Only Light in the Darkness," fans can surmise that Ward hails form a twisted family and often found himself doing his brother's treacherous bidding. New flashbacks will show that a teenaged Ward tried to seek revenge against his sadistic brother but ultimately landed himself in prison instead.

What's Next For Coulson In The HYDRA War?

Just as Ward was staring down serious repercussions for arson and the attempted murder of his older brother, Agent Garrett (Bill Paxton) arrived on the scene (see video below). While he may not have entered Ward's prison in a legal manner, history proves that he will eventually walk out with the youth.

While the season's penultimate episode will explain why Ward is devoted to Garrett and his HYDRA cause, the finale will finally be able to determine where the agent's loyalties truly lie.

"He may be a good man who was programmed to be bad or a triple agent secretly working for Coulson or exactly what he seems - and evil son of a b***h," said executive producer Jeph Loeb, according to TV Guide Magazine. "By the end of the season, you'll be able to make your own decision about that."

Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
