When Drake didn't make an appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards to support his rumored girlfriend Rihanna, it left some curiosity on what he could've been doing that was more important.

On Saturday, Hollywood Life reported that while the Diamonds singer was accepting the award for Artist of the Year in Los Angeles, Drake was celebrating a friend's birthday in New York City. Since the two were on opposite sides of the country, it left speculation on some sort of issue going on between them, but it turns out that Drake was reportedly just enjoying himself at a restaurant for a guys night out.

"They got there at 11pm, and Drake arrived with eight people-all guys," a source told the site. "They were there to watch the Clippers game and celebrate his friend's birthday. The entire restaurant sang happy birthday to his friend."

Drake seemed to have himself a good time with plates of delicious treats and talking to his pals.

"They were overheard saying a few times, 'Yeah Drizzy!'" the source said. "They had the spinach dip, hot wings, steak sandwich, thai kale salad, filet mignon, fish sandwich. They drank Ciroc and Hennessy."

The R&B singer's alleged girlfriend recently posed topless for Lui, which according to the site, Drake is actually proud of.

"Drake would never complain or criticize Rihanna's sex appeal because in his mind, she's FLAWLESS!" an insider said. "Nobody does it better than her. She's grown and sexy, with a banging body and if she wants to wear her birthday suit all day long, he's down with that."
