Fans got a peek at one of the most epic showdowns on Basketball Wives LA 's third season reunion, but what they didn't get to see was newcomer Brandi Maxiell give an update on her pregnancy status.

Brandi Maxiell Talks Struggle With Cancer

The new reality star touched hearts around the nation when she shared her story on reality TV of having trouble conceiving a second child after she won her battle with ovarian cancer. During the season, she said that she can only have a child through IVF as well as her past fear that the cancer will return.

In a clip of unseen footage released recently, Maxiell opened up about her current status with baby number two.

"Right now, my blood levels weren't consistent enough for me to move forward. I need it to be consistent for at least six months to a year where it's just, no concerns," she explained while holding back tears as her friend and co-star Malaysia Pargo comforted her.

"So we're putting it on pause. Hopefully by the summer, or the end of the year we can move forward and do the things that we need to do. But it's just, it's a struggle."

Maxiell recently opened up about her fight against cancer iLife and Style magazine. She shared her initial thoughts of believing it was a "death sentence" before taking it on as a challenge to overcome.

"I think me having cancer brought me closer to God because I think I was kind of losing my way a little bit. Jason visited me every week in Dallas [where I received treatment]. He shaved his hair off and I was like, 'Oh my gosh!' Those are like the moments I remember."

Maxiell is mother to 2-year-old, Jason, with her husband, also Jason.
