Teyana Taylor is speaking out about the past beef with Rihanna, revealing that the two used to be friends when she dated Chris Brown.

In an interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, Taylor said she met Rihanna through Chris Brown and that her loyalty is still with the singer, who is currently in jail.

"Me and Rihanna used to be cool. But at the end of the day, my loyalty is with my brother [Chris Brown]. So if he's dating somebody, my job is to make them feel welcomed. So if he's like ‘Yo Tey, this is my girl, I'm ready to wife her,' what am I gonna to say? ‘I ain't gonna messing with her because of Rihanna?' That's not how that works. I met Rihanna through Chris. I am Chris' friend. And through my relationship with Rihanna, I loved her to death. She was a sweet girl. But some things just don't work."

As far as if she lost her Adidas deal because of Rihanna, she denied.

"That's what the statement said, right?" she said, then adding, "She didn't cause me to lose anything. Like I said, God makes no mistakes."

Enstars reported back in Sept 2013 that the beef between Taylor and Rihanna started after the Bajan beauty uploaded a video to her Instagram of her stylist, Yusef Williams mocking Taylor singing "Caught Up In The Rapture." Williams wore a wig that looked similar to Taylor's and sang the same song. He was also playing with his hair the same way Taylor did in her video.

Taylor was not pleased when she saw Rihanna's video on the social media site and took to Twitter to directly respond to the Bajan singer about the mockery.

"Don't play wit me @rihanna f--- all this industry sh--, YOU & I know each other VERY well. Throwing subs 4 wat? u got my #, don't show off," Taylor wrote, later adding, "y'all could bully everybody else & get away wit that sh-- but that sh---ain't gone work ova here. so y'all could miss me with that NAVY sh--."
