Pop star Katy Perry has dished on what she's been up to lately, involving a look back into her personal past.

On Friday, Yorkshire Post released a story on the Birthday singer who mentioned some flashbacks she's been having that may or may not include her ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

"Right now I'm going through my storage unit that houses all of my clothes and costumes," Perry said. "I'm having a lot of flashbacks figuring out what do I give away, what do I keep and working out whether any of those outfits hold strong memories."

This gives some speculation on exactly what kind of memories the singer is referring to. This could be something general or something from a romance.

Perry then revealed what kind of year she's been having, which has been anything but ordinary.

"It's been quite a colorful few years with a lot of hard work, a lot of excitement, a lot of purpose and a lot of fun," she said. "If it wasn't fun I don't think I would be running this fast still."

The singer also dished on her music, explaining that the songs come from something personal.

"I only really know how to write about what I've gone through," Perry said. "I think people relate to the vulnerability and honesty I try to bring into the songs, but some aren't that deep- some are just for going out, getting ready and putting make-up on."

Perry also said that she is an "adventure junkie" when she's on tour.
