The status of a fourth season of Discovery's hit show Amish Mafia is no longer a mystery, as the cast's lawyer appears to have confirmed that the show is indeed returning for a fourth season.

Amish Mafia Cast Secretly Filming Episodes For Fourth Season?

Production on the show has reportedly been on hiatus since February 26, and the final episode of the third season aired April 8, and showed cast members including Lebanon Levi Stoltzfus, Esther Schmucker, John Schmucker, Jolin Zimmerman and Caleb all refusing to be filmed any longer.

None of the cast has confirmed whether they would return, however an appearance at a Lancaster court for John's real-life legal problems led to attorney Steven Breit confirming the show had resumed filming.

Esther Schmucker Losing Weight Ahead of Season Four?

John was sentenced to a three-month prison sentence, slated to begin June 27th, after receiving 10 driving on a suspended license charges.

Outside the courtroom after the verdict was handed down May 21, Breit confirmed to Lancaster Online that Schmucker's sentencing wouldn't affect his appearance on the show, which he said was filming its fourth season at the time.

"I've been assured they will be able to work around this," Breit said. "The show will continue."

Production crews were even present at the courthouse, though they only filmed outside the front doors and did not appear inside.

Breit also said that he appealed to the county court because he was concerned that Schmucker was going to be targeted in prison due to his association with the show, though the notion was rejected by the judge.

A fourth season should premiere on Discovery in the fall, though no date has been announced.
