Recently the first casting call for season 3 for House of Cards was released and the details seem to reveal some interesting characters who might create new problems for Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey).

The call came out on May 19 and featured various profiles, albeit all for people above 35.

While some characters like an ER doctor, photographer and senators don't seem particularly dangerous for Frank, there are some roles of reporters, the director of the NSA and a certain Detective Smith who could play impediments in Frank's relentless pursuit if power. Reporters have usually ended up being a bane for Frank -- even though he is exceptional at manipulating them in his dirty game of politics. Let's never forget a wily reporter like Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) had to pay with her life for her association with Frank.

The director of the NSA can never bode well for someone like Frank, who has might be good at cleaning up his tracks but has left way too many dirty deeds in the wake of his megalomaniacal career in the White House. Similarly detectives can never be a good thing for the Vice President.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland.
