Television host Robin Roberts is putting her cancer battle behind her and is concentrating on her personal life and relationships these days. The Good Morning America star recently opened up about her life with girlfriend Amber Laign and how she's looking forward to better days ahead.

Robin Roberts Reveals New Girlfriend On Facebook

In a new interview with Local Memphis, Roberts says that while she is in a good place in her relationship with Laign, she doesn't have any immediate plans to make it official just yet. "Amber and I are extremely happy and we've been together almost 9 years now," Robin says.

Roberts also says that she's been able to reevaluate her life after battling with both breast cancer and bone marrow cancer by putting her priorities in the forefront. In her new book, Everybody's Got Something, Roberts says she wants to share what she's learned through her difficult times and lessons.

Who Is Amber Laign?

"What I'm so encouraged by, is the intent of the book is being received and that's to give people hope. Let people know that I went through a really difficult time but I'm here and I want to share those lessons," she says.

"That's life. It's a roller coaster and it reaffirms to me that it's important to really appreciate the journey and not get caught up in what it's going to feel like when you reach the destination," she added.

As far as the prospect of marrying her partner Laign, she adds, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Robin's book Everybody's Got Something, is available in bookstores now.
