Could Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi be renewing their vows because they're trying to stay together... for the kids?

Ellen & Portia's Big Summer Plans!

"There have been a lot of headlines suggesting that their relationship is in trouble. They want to quash them," a source told OK! Magazine about DeGeneres, 56, and De Rossi, 41. Now rumors have emerged that the two, who have been plagued by divorce talk, were actually fighting about having children.

According to a report on May 27, de Rossi liked the idea of having children, while DeGeneres wasn't so into it. "Apparently, Ellen and Portia have been fighting about everything under the sun, but their biggest arguments all centered around the idea of having children."

Although DeGeneres reportedly gave in to the idea, the TV talk show host then changed her mind, making her wife de Rossi super angry. The former Ally McBeal star was apparently so furious that she even left their million-dollar home temporarily.

Now it seems like the super couple has put their differences besides them, hoping to renew their vows this summer. "[They] are looking to do something on or around August 16, their sixth wedding anniversary, in Portia's home country of Australia," the source continued. "They want it to be in Sydney because the city has a big gay population, and they want to help spur the acceptance of same-sex marriage."

"The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do," DeGeneres has said about her wife. "She surprises me all the time. It's what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We're really lucky because we know how rare it is."

The couple was married in August 2008.
