MTV finally seems to be addressing the question of what happens after high school on Awkward. With episode nine, entitled My Personal Statement, Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and friends begin looking into colleges.

Are Tamara and Jake Getting Back Together on Awkward?

Many shows begin laying the foundation for the next season around episode nine or ten, but in doing this the MTV comedy might find itself moving from awkward to downright uncomfortable. Jenna and her friends are in their senior year of high school and with the concept of graduation and college quickly becoming a reality, decisions will have to be made.

In the preview for My Personal Statement, it is suggested that Jenna is beginning to come to terms with her future, which might not include Matty (Beau Mirchoff).

Does Jenna Still Have Feelings for Matty?

After discovering that Matty and his new girlfriend fooled around in her bed, the back and forth of the Jenna-Matty relationship might be ready to tip over into damaged beyond repair. Jenna had already refused to help Matty when he was arrested, which indicated that she is beginning to separate herself from the emotional investment.  

Jenna will also be forced to deal with the fact that she and Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) might not go to college together. Will they separate? Is Reed going to leave the show? Will Jenna go off to college with her new boyfriend Luke?   

With college applications being filled out in episode nine, the foundation for a new season, if the show is renewed, might be set in stone.
