Dov and Chloe were going strong in the season four finale of Rookie Blue, but when her mystery husband pops up in the new season, it causes Dov to question everything he thought he knew about Chloe.

Nick, Sam and Andy's Love Triangle Continues Into Season 5?

Executive Producer Tassie Cameron revealed in a recent interview with TV Line why Chloe never split from her estranged husband and why show writers decided to throw a monkey wrench in her story line.

Chloe and Oliver Up Against 'Frustrating' Transitions?

"Chloe seems like the kind of person who might just start to forget about it. I don't know yet. What interested us about that was that we always knew from the beginning with Chloe that she was going to present herself as an open book, but she was going to have something really, really big under the surface that she hasn't told Dov.

That was really fun for us to write that character, who [is like], "I'm an open book. It's my brand," [and] to know that they had a big secret coming up that was going to be revealed and make Dov look at this woman and say, "Do I even know you?"

Cameron aded that her huge secret will definitely have Dov look at her differently. But that doesn't stop him from fighting for Chloe and encouraging her husband to step aside and let her go.

During the fifth season, Chloe's husband, Wes, confronts Dov, but Dov doesn't seem pressed about it all.

Wes tells Dov, "You took something that belongs to me. I protected her."

Dov doesn't let Wes' intimidating stance phase him and tells him to hang it up.

"It's over Wes."

Greg Smith, who plays Dov recently spoke on how his character is really ealing with the news.

"Dov is sort of dealing with both the sort of shock with the fact that she's married but also putting that aside to try to be there for her to make sure she gets better. Things have hurt Dov more than he could say..."

Rookie Blue returns for season 5 June 19 on ABC at 9/8c.
