Spoiler alerts have revealed that Rookie Blue's Andy will choose Sam over Nick, but a new interview with one of the ABC show's executive producers just weeks before the premiere reveals that fans might not have seen the end of Nick and Andy.

While Andy told Sam that she loves him, Tassie Cameron revealed to TV Line recently whether the infamous "love triangle" is truly over.

"We don't know yet. I haven't decided. Are love triangles ever really finished? I'm not sure yet how we're going to structure it."

'Rookie Blue' Picks Up Where It Left Off?

Cameron added that Nick had a say in Andy's choice for Sam. Of course he wanted Andy, but he also wanted her to want him completely.

"[Andy's] always been a very intuitive character, and she's acting on her intuition. It's really clear to us and to Nick, even if it's not clear to her yet, that there's a lot of unfinished business with that relationship [with Sam]," Cameron said. "He wants her to do what's right for her, because he's a good person."

Unfortunately for Nick though, it doesn't look like the chemistry between Sam and Andy is going away anytime soon. Cameron also said that Andy going back to Sam was the way it was always meant to be when it comes to their passionate and romantic love story; something that was difficult even for the writers.

"We were exploring, as writers, whether it's true: Can you have loved somebody like Sam and then fall in love with a different kind of person? If so, what does it look like?"

The fifth season premiere of Rookie Blue airs in a two-hour special on Thursday June 19 at 9/8c.
