The Mentalist won't return to CBS until 2015, but the writers and crew are already busy making preparations for the series' seventh season.

Series creator Bruno Heller is currently juggling his new Gotham venture with Fox, but that doesn't mean The Mentalist is falling by the wayside - at least not yet.

The CBS series narrowly escaped cancellation with an 11th hour renewal this spring, but the Simon Baker led drama only received a 13-episode order. In addition, Deadline previously reported that, as The Mentalist's wait for a renewal dragged on, the program released their writers and allowed them to seek other employment.

Jordan Harper, however, is at least one of the season 6 scribes that weathered the wait. An executive story editor, co-producer, and writer ("Violets," "The Great Red Dragon"), Harper confirmed on Thursday that he was still attached to The Mentalist.

"I'm still at The Mentalist, which is keeping me plenty busy," Harper informed a fan who inquired about his potential involvement with Gotham.

CBS has yet to announce a premiere date for season 7, but filming will follow the regular schedule and begin in July. Viewers will just have to wait several more months to find out what new mysteries the writers' have whipped up.
