Though residents put up a strong resistance in an effort to keep CMT's Party Down South out of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, it looks as if the show if still filming there after all.

'Party Down South' Filming In Biloxi and Other Coastal Mississippi Towns?

According to a June 30 report in the Sun-Herald newspaper, the cast has been filming at bars in the area, and is expected to be staying for some time.

The show, which has already been confirmed to also be filming in nearby Biloxi and St. Martin/D'Iberville , has filmed in at least one bar in Ocean Springs, Manager Erin Valncia told the newspaper.

'Party Down South' Not Welcome In Mississippi?

Valencia confirmed that the show filmed at Zeppelins in Biloxi on June 26, and previously filmed at Mississippi Juke Joint in Ocean Springs on June 20, though she isn't sure if her establishments will be used for filming on Fourth of July.

"They haven't confirmed anything with us," she said. "We'd love to have them back for the Fourth. But we're going to be busy, we're going to be rock 'n' rolling with or without them."

Though both Ocean Springs and nearby Gautier both passed declarations that said the communities didn't want a show with the negative image Party Down South has been perceived as having filming there, Valencia said she didn't find any issues with regular bar patrons interacting with the cast as they filmed.

"We haven't had any negative customers, no one opposing," she said. "it brings out the curious, the spectators."

The show was still allowed to film in the area despite the resolutions being passed, and Biloxi even welcomed the show, with spokesman Vincent Creel saying that the Coastal Mississippi community had decided that it wanted to host the film industry, and being choosy over an image issue was ridiculous.

"Did the Beverly Hillbillies destroy Beverly Hills' reputation?" he asked.

Party Down South airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CMT.
