In the most recent development relating to the Netflix drama, the producers of the show were denied permission to film a few scenes at the UN in New York because Russia disapproved.

The Russians have never been easy to deal with, especially when the issue might have to do with America. As the producers sought permission to shoot for authenticity sake at the UN headquarters, the script was approved by the press department of the U.N., the next step was getting the 15 council members of the instirution on board. The Russian diplomat raised a red flag and stalled the aspirations of the producers.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
