Another 16 and Pregnant turned Teen Mom star from MTV is writing a "tell all book" about her experiences as a struggling teen mother.

24-year-old Amber Portwood announced the book, entitled Never Too Late, last week and insisted that she will not be holding back as she delves into the details of her troubled youth.

Portwood first appeared on reality television when she gave birth to her daughter Leah Leann Shirley in 2008. Her relationship with Leah's father, Gary Shirley, became so volatile that in 2010 Teen Mom aired an episode in which Amber became violent towards Shirley while in the company of their two-year-old daughter. This resulted in police intervention and Portwood was arrested for domestic violence against Shirley.

Portwood went to prison for drug charges, though she was released early, serving 17 months of a five year sentence. The Indiana native slowly began to spiral and eventually threatened to kill herself, which resulted in a stay at a rehabilitation center in Malibu.

Her new tell-all book is said to discuss her time in prison, as well as her attempt to raise her now five-year-old daughter now that she has been sober for two years.

"It's a brutally honest account of how bad my life got," Portwood told Radar, "I'm going to tell you how it all happened".

The star added "I'm living proof that it's never to late to change your life."
