As Transformers 4: Age of Extinction just made some big bucks at the box office, spoilers for its sequel have already begun to surface. In a recent interview, one of the producers of the movie spoke about Transformers 5 and the future of the dinobots.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Sequel To Also Be A "Long Movie" If Michael Bay Stays

In an interview with IGN dated July 5, producer Lorenzo do Bonaventura spoke about Age of Extinction's performance, new phenomena in the movie like terraforming, and where the franchise might be headed in its sequel. But most importantly he addressed fans' curiosity about the donobots and if they will get to see the prehistoric beasts with metallic fangs in the sequel for Age of Extinction.

While speaking about how they were still trying to figure things out Bonaventura spoke about the inspiration to bring in the dinobots in the fourth instalment.

"We need to figure that out, to some degree. I bet you'll get a different answer from every one of us involved," he said. "Honestly, we haven't thought through some of those questions you're asking. Look, what I found really cool about it was the whole notion that that was the provocation of the extinction of the dinosaurs. To me, that was sort of the big idea, and that's pretty much what drove our decision initially."

He went on to add how that revelation led them to tie it with the current issues of the zeitgeist.

"That discovery leads to some big problems in our present day. It offers an opportunity in the future to do something, for sure," he said. "It also offers an opportunity I guess to do something in space if you wanted to, because the notion of terraforming is you can do it in space.

Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
