As the premiere of season 2 of Ray Donovan approaches, while promoting the show, actor Liev Schreiber, who plays the titular role on the Showtime series, spoke about what how he was extremely skeptical about working in television.

In an interview dated July 11 with Digital Spy, Shreiber revealed how nervous he was about taking the part of Ray.

"I was extremely nervous about it," he confessed. "I started as a theatre actor and I could never sustain a run for longer than three months."

He went on to talk about how he thought undertaking a project like Ray Donovan would be maddening for him.

"I thought playing a character for more than three months would drive me absolutely bonkers, so I never thought I'd be in a television show," he said.

The most recent development relating to guest stars on the show, was that of Glenn Keogh joining as an Irish immigration officer on the show who would be working closely with one of the main characters in one of the episodes.

In an interview with the Examiner Keogh spoke about his role. "I play an Irish Immigration officer, working closely with one of the main characters (sorry can't say which one) fun episode and nice to play a government official once," he said. "Typically it's the officials that are tracking my characters down!"

The second season of Ray Donovan will premiere on July 13.

Ray Donovan will air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
