It looks as though Tamra Barney wants to prove that she is a good parent after all. The Real Housewives of Orange County star recently explained why she has been sporting bangs lately, and says she cut her hair for the sake of her daughter.

Tamra Barney Says Heather Dubrow Wanted To Throw Her Off The Mechanical Bull?  

Apparently, her 8-year-old daughter Sophia was unhappy with her new haircut so Barney decided to do something about it.

"For those of you that have asked 'why did you cut your bangs, this is why," Barney wrote on her Instagram account. "Sophia had her bangs cut and didn't like them so I told her I would cut my bangs and we could grow them out together. #twinkies #lovemygirl #bangs #allgrownout #itsjusthair."

It was recently reported that Barney was being accused of being a bad mother by her ex, Simon Barney. Her therapist Renee Husle is defending the reality television star, telling the media that she is a wonderful mother who cares about both her children's emotional and everyday needs.

"She tries hard to fill their needs and cares about their feelings and wants to support them in any way she can," Hulse says. "Tamra is conscientious to instill responsibility in the kids as well as teaching them the value of work and respect towards others."

Barney's ex-husband slammed her for concentrating more on her fame and reality television show than her family at home. The two are currently in the midst of a bitter custody war of their children, with Simon claiming that Tamra is psychologically damaging their children.

The ex-couple are currently fighting in court for custody of their three children, Sidney, 15, Spencer, 13, and Sophia. They faced off once again in court this week, but have agreed to a continuation until September 10.
