Hawaii Five-0 added a new member to the team back in May, but Lou Grover's addition to the task force could upset the delicate balance of banter between Steve McGarret and Detective Danny Williams.

A New ME To Join Max On 'Hawaii Five-0', Will She Be As Loyal To McGarrett?

The CBS drama established a snappy repartee between McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Danno (Scott Caan) early on, using their contrasting personalities to fuel the duo's amusing car-guments (see video below). However, Grover (Chi McBride) spent season 4 showing that he had no problem keeping up with McGarrett's banter and Grover's clever dialogue will undoubtedly spill over into season 5 now that he is officially part of the Five-0 taskforce.

Hopefully this won't tarnish the McDanno dynamic.

Kono To Start A Family? Peter Lenkov Talks Future Of Adam On 'Hawaii Five-0'

"McGarrett's the kinda guy that can handle banter on all fronts," explained executive producer Peter Lenkov, according to the Honolulu Pulse. "I'd be more concerned for Danny being able to handle Grover's banter. Grover's a guy who can hold his own."

While Grover spent much of last year chatting with McGarrett, Lenkov promises that the former SWAT captain will strike up conversations with the rest of his new team when Hawaii Five-0 returns.

"Grover's just another great addition to the team - we got to see some of his budding relationships with the other members (spearfishing with Chin, Danny comforting him when his daughter was kidnapped) - but we really spent a lot of last season building up the relationship between McGarrett and Grover," Lenkov continued. "We're looking forward to exploring his dynamic with the whole team."
