With Guardians of the Galaxy currently screening for the press, the initial reviews have been over-the-moon positive, telling fans that Marvel has hit a home-run with their latest movie. But as with other Marvel movies, the big question is what the credits will tease for the future of the brand.

So far during the press screenings, they have not been playing the post-credit scene and according to ScreenCrush, director James Gunn told why they chose to do that.

"One bit of business for those of you going to the premiere tonight: There WILL be a tag at the end of the credits on Guardians of the Galaxy, but it won't be playing tonight, just as it hasn't been playing on the press screenings. It's something we're saving for people who go see the movie on the first day in theaters around the world."

But why save it? Are they waiting to reveal a new character? Last week, news broke that Marvel cult favorite Howard the Duck would be making an appearance in the movie, but is that the big secret? With Marvel surely making some waves in the announcement realm at Comic-Con, maybe it is a short reveal of a character we haven't been able to see yet.

One logical reveal could be Ant-Man's Paul Rudd or Michael Douglas. The film has been all over the news in seemingly negative ways after the departure of Edgar Wright so maybe the studio will try and get people excited again by showing off some of what the character can do.

Only time will tell what the scene will be. Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters on August 1.
