While Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor next in next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, the prospects of the next Thor movie are still up in the air. Will the third Thor see more of what Loki is doing after The Dark World or will it change to another story?

Speaking with ScreenRant, Hemsworth said that a more destructive tone could take over the upcoming third installment.

"I think what's good about this is that each time, with the Avengers, we sort of made it difficult to separate them each time there's some sort of conflict it's like where's the rest of the team? And I liked that Thor has another universe or the universe to sort of take care of and keep him occupied," Hemsworth said.

"I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it's sort of the end of all things and there's obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go."

Armageddon? This had hints in The Dark World after Thor left Asgard to be on Earth with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), it was revealed that Loki was sitting on the throne with no word as to where Odin was, dead or alive.

Hemsworth went on to talk about Ragnarok, an apocalypse of sorts that represents the end of Asgard. According to ScreenRant, the event plays a major part in Thor comics and while on the set of Thor: The Dark World last fall, executive producer Craig Kyle also teased similar ideas when describing to us the Tree of Yggdrasil housed within the Asgardian Hall of Science which appears in the film.

"And the effects and woes and success of the universe are spoken through this, this living object," Hemsworth said. "So, should the end of all things ever come this would probably be the first thing to fall."

Thor 3 has no release date right now, but is rumored to be one of the untitled Marvel projects coming in 2016 or 2017.
