Country Singer Blake Shelton Wages Twitter War Against Haters

The 30-year-old musician will be collaborating with director Trey Fanjoy and screenwriter Cindy McCreery for a new film. According to Deadline on Wednesday, Something in The Water is a female-led comedy taking place in the heartland following a group of women who enter a bass fish competition. Lambert, who is one of the film's screenwriters, will star as one of the five leading ladies.

Lambert and Fanjoy go way back, having worked together on a number of Lambert's music videos, including Automatic and the Carrie Underwood duet Somethin' Bad, which took on its own movie trailer-esque feel. Other Lambert-Fanjoy video collaborations include Kerosene, The House That Built Me, Fastest Girl In Town, and Mama's Broken Heart.

Having directed nearly 200 music videos in her career, Fanjoy has won the ACM Award for Video Of The Year and the CMA Award for Music Video Of the Year. While she is not currently slated to direct the newer Lambert motion picture, Deadline believes it is likely that Fanjoy will eventually step into the role.

Something In The Water is still in the early stages with neither a complete cast or crew, which will give Lambert plenty of time to finish touring for her most recent record. Platinum is her fifth album and was released June 3.
