She might be known more for her relationships these days than for her movies or albums, but it looks like Jennifer Lopez is keeping her personal life very personal for the first time. According to reports, the singer and actress is "protecting herself" in her relationship with rumored beau Maksim Chmerkovskiy and taking things very slow.

According to Fox News posted on Friday, sources close to Lopez say that she and the Dancing With The Stars alum "have been talking a lot and she thinks he is great, but she is being very careful."

The source added, "They do text and communicate and she is open to dating in general right now. She still believes true love exists and wants to find that someday."

Meanwhile, Chmerkovskiy himself is refusing to answer questions about the rumored pair to the media.

While Chmerkovskiy did attend Lopez's 45th birthday bash in the Hamptons just last week, the dancer sidestepped questions about the pop star during one of his dance performances in Westbury, N.Y. recently.

When asked if Lopez was going to attend the show, Chmerkovskiy told People Magazine last Thursday, "I have a lot of friends and a lot of them are coming tonight," even though Lopez did not come.

So far both Lopez and Chmerkovskiy have been staying mum on whether or not they are officially dating.
