Who says exes can't be friends? Singer and songwriter Ne-Yo recently sat down with Power 105.1's Angie Martinez while he was on a press run for his Boys and Girls Club Initiative. Since the mother of his child, Monyetta Shaw, will be appearing VH1's Atlanta Exes on Aug. 18, he shared his feelings about her becoming a reality star.

"We are good," Ne-Yo told The Voice of New York. "The romantic piece has run its course... But we are walking, talking, living, running proof that you don't have to hate your baby mama."

Ne-Yo and Monyetta's children, Madilyn and Mason (who you will see on the show), are still young toddlers, so the two have had to keep in contact to see the children. Luckily, he wishes her nothing but success in her future endeavors and even shouted her new series out, telling fans to "check for Atlanta Exes, because she is on that show!"

Unlike many of the wives and girlfriends audiences have seen on VH1 (ie; Evelyn Lozada, Tami Roman), Ne-Yo knows that Monyetta will not be the one to physically fight with other castmates. "That's one of the things I love about her, she's not stupid, she's not ratchet... She knows better than that."

Also, do not expect the 31-year-old dad to make any solo appearances on the show, besides an event he attends with his mom. For now, he is focused on his children, his friendship with his ex-fiancé and finishing his album, which will be done very soon.
