Emily Swallow will not return as Kim Fischer during season 7 of The Mentalist.

After only 14 episodes, the FBI agent will leave the team. Swallow confirmed recent rumors on Monday.

"Don't be sad! I'll still be popping up on your tv screen :)," Swallow tweeted in response to a concerned fan on Sunday.

The actress will indeed continue her TV career, this time on Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.

It is currently unknown why Swallow was written out of the upcoming season. The character of Jane Fischer only appeared in the post-Red John world (see video below), and it looks like another female agent will quickly take her place. Josie Loren will appear as rookie Agent Michelle Vega in the 13-episode seventh season, and she will probably be introduced in the premiere.

Filming for season 7 is already underway, with episode 3 ("Orange Blossom Ice Cream") already completed and episode 2 ("Graybar Hotel") currently in progress. The premiere, "Nothing But Blue Skies," will shoot next.
