American Horror Story is adding another legendary diva to its sprawling cast for Season 4, a.k.a. Freak Show.

Sarah Paulson Almost Said Something 'So Bad' In Discussing Freak Show

R&B legend Patti LaBelle has signed on for four episodes of American Horror Story: Freak Show, according to a new report by TVLine. The singer will be playing the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's new character. Neither of them have character names that have been announced yet.

The report is claiming that LaBelle will play a local citizen who tries to figure out the secrets of the murderous Twisty, the clown killer (John Carroll Lynch).

Jessica Lange's Character in Freak Show Thinks 'Suburban Women' Are The Real 'Freaks'

American Horror Story: Freak Show centers on one of the last remaining freak shows in America, living in Jupiter, Fla. Set in the 1950s, Jessica Lange plays Elsa Mars, a German expatriate who rounds up "freaks" in an attempt to "rescue" them and put them in her show.

Among those playing "freaks" are Sarah Paulson, who plays the two-headed Dot and Bette, Angela Bassett, who plays Desiree Dupree, Kathy Bates, who plays Effil Darling, Evan Peters, who plays Jimmy Darling and Frances Conroy, who is playing a yet to be announced character.

Other actors set to return from past American Horror Story seasons include Sidibe, Denis O'Hare, Emma Roberts, Jamie Brewer. Michael Chiklis has joined the cast as the ex-husband of Effil and the new husband of Desiree.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is set to premiere in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
