Assistant Director Owan Granger (Miguel Ferrer) started filming his part for the second episode five days after the Chris O'Donnell (Callen), Eric Christian Olsen (Deeks), Daniela Ruah (Kensi), and LL Cool J (Sam) returned to set.

"He's baaaack," Ferrer tweeted on Monday alongside a photo of his trailer door as he prepared for "Inelegant Heart."

Granger will spend the previously filmed premiere ("Deep Trouble: Part 2) taking over Hetty's (Linda Hunt) duties in her absence. However, it remains to be seen if the diminutive powerhouse will be back from DC during episode 2, meaning the untrustworthy Granger may be in charge of Callen's team for some time.

Despite Hetty's tenuous position, fans should prepare themselves for a strong start to the season.

"If you love action, laughs, suspense and little teasing romance. Mark the date 9.29.14 CBS #Mondayat10pm," teased executive producer John Peter Kousakis after his first week directing "Inelegant Heart."
