Is boy band One Direction splitting up? Not quite, but X Factor mentor Simon Cowell wouldn't be surprised if it happens sooner than later.

Cowell told The Daily Star on Tuesday about One Direction, "Bands don't stay together forever. I think they will make at least two more albums together and they are in the middle of one right now." The boys are currently working on their fourth album as a band.

When asked if 1D member Harry Styles would go solo this year, Cowell said he didn't think so. "No, I don't think that is going to happen for a while. Eventually I am sure they all will," he said about 1D going their separate ways.

Fans of One Direction shouldn't worry too much since the British boys are currently on their massive Where We Are tour across North America.

The boys next stop is Houston, Texas on August 22. They were just in Detroit where Niall Horan even hung out with the Detroit Tigers mascot Paws. "Thank you Detroit tigers for having us the other day, it was a really great experience. Paws the mascot came and said hello, wouldn't talk though ! Lol". They then hit Nashville on Tuesday where One Direction tweeted out a picture of the boys singing in concert.

One Direction's Where We Are tour continues until October 5 in Miami, Fla.
