After six years of marriage, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are reportedly headed for divorce.

The parents of twins Monroe and Moroccan, 3, have been living in different New York City apartments since May, TMZ reported on Thursday. Carey and Cannon are allegedly in the process of working on a property and custody agreement for their impending divorce.

Sources told TMZ that Cannon's interview on Big Boy's radio show in March ignited a big feud between the couple. On the show, the America's Got Talent host mentioned some of the famous women he's slept with: Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selita Ebanks and Kim Kardashian.

Days later, the Wild 'N Out host also touched upon the topic on Howard Stern's talk show and revealed that the multi-platinum singer wasn't happy about his past references. Yet, Cannon told Stern he didn't think he was wrong for speaking about the women he's picked up before marriage.

"I didn't apologize for being honest," Cannon recalled telling Carey. "But, I did apologize for hurting her feelings. I did apologize for being insensitive."

TMZ stated that Carey also didn't appreciate Cannon revealing that they hadn't slept together till after they were married. The You're Mine singer felt "humiliated and the relationship never recovered."

Another big problem for Carey was Cannon's willingness to accept any job that came his way, which kept him away from their twins. For Cannon, Carey had reportedly "become impossible" and is surrounded by "yes men."

Although neither Cannon nor Carey have spoken on the divorce rumors, the comedian did deny any speculation in an interview with Parade in May.

"There's no merit or truth to it. It's kind of humorous, really. It couldn't be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers," he said.
