With the many old faces possibly popping up in the next X-Men movie, one iconic hero could make a return after showing up again the last film, but in a younger form.

'X-Men: Apocalypse': Time-Traveling Cable Could Appear In Some Capacity

It has been rumored that Storm could be making an appearance in Apocalypse in a younger form. The character was portrayed by Halle Berry in the first three movies and this year's Days of Future Past.

In the comics, Storm rose up and declared herself the Windrider. She carved out a small area of Africa as her own and intended to keep it safe from the strife of the war between humans and mutants.

'X-Men: Apocalypse': Young Jean Grey & Cyclops May Join Mutants Against Supervillain

Unfortunately this just drew attention to her and her people and Apocalypse attacked the Windrider's new nation and brought it to its knees. He captured Ororo and intended to make her one of his Horseman. He had her branded and put in the care of Sinister and the Dark Beast, instructing them to make her into a warrior of Apocalypse. He named her Storm.

She later would be confronted by Quicksilver and join the X-Men where she would fight alongside the mutant on his team assembled by Magneto. After the defeat of Apocalypse, she would go on to continue helping the X-Men and could be used as a bridge to the older series.

Having Storm join the team would likely be a cool link for the fans between the two series and allow for a young actress to take over the role. It also would give the character some new life and a different vision much like it did for Mystique, Magneto and Professor X.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
