A new still from the first episode of season 10 of Criminal Minds featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Matthew Gray Gubler was revealed by CBS on August 29.

New Scary Image Hints At Mysterious Killer In The Guise Of An Ape In Season 10

Gubler's character Dr. Spencer Reid and Hewitt's Kate are dressed formally in office attire and seem to be discussing some very important business. Kate will be newest entrant to the BAU force. The network also gave a brief description about what fans can expect from the first episode:

"The BAU team investigates a series of murders in Bakersfield, Calif., which have left the victims unidentifiable. Also, the team welcomes new agent Kate Callahan into the BAU fold, who assists them in their efforts in solving the cases, on the 10th season premiere of Criminal Minds."

Leaked Dialogue From Episode 4, The Itch, Reveals New Character? 

Recently, Erica Messer, the executive producer of the CBS series, spoke about Hewitt's character and gave away a bit about her background too.

"Kate is smart, charming, and wise for her years," Messer said. "Her background is criminal psychology, and her passion comes from wanting to make the world a safe place. She's had a lot of personal loss that makes her a patriot and a nurturing figure to those in her personal and work families." 

The second and final part of the finale, Demons, aired on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Season 10 will premiere on CBS on October 1.
