Is Don Johnson upset by his daughter Dakota Johnson being in Fifty Shades of Grey? A new report said that Dakota's father may have been unsure about her taking the part.

Yahoo reported on Monday that Dakota's grandmother Tippi Hedren (Melanie Griffths' mom) said Don wasn't too happy about the racy role of Anastasia Steele belonging to Dakota.

"I understand Don Johnson is very upset about her being in the film. He kind of had the same feeling that I did," Hedren reportedly told the Hollywood Reporter's Off The Cuff pod cast.

Hedren also didn't think she'd being seeing the film. "I've seen the trailer. That's all I have to watch."

Although Don had admitted he wasn't going to be seeing the film, he had supported his daughter.

"This is the family business," Don reportedly told Good Morning Britain. "This is what we do, and I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways and turn it into something spectacular."

"Speaking like a proud father and a seasoned professional, I can tell you that she is a gifted, gifted actress," Don continued "and this will just be one part in a long line of tremendous performances in her career."

Fifty Shades of Grey is expected to come out Valentine's Day 2015.
