Voight spoke to Zap2it about his favorite costars and what qualities he highly regarded in them. The actor particularly shared his thoughts about working with Wendell Pierce, Vinessa Shaw, and main man Schreiber. While talking about Pierce, Voight gave away an interesting tid bit about season 2, revealing that he had a "classic" scene with Pierce lined up in the last episode.

"Wendell Pierce is a tremendous actor. I wasn't really too aware of his work before this, but just working together on the set, it's a great joy," he said. "We have some delicious scenes coming up that I'm excited for audiences to see. There's one in the last episode that's really a classic."

Ray Donovan Renewed For Third Season

Shaw plays a Boston Globe reporter in season 2 and was complimented for her "playfulness" and "intelligence" by Voight.

Finally coming to the leading man of the Showtime series, Voight was all high praise, and stated that Schreiber was finally getting to mine his true potential with the series.

"I've always thought of Liev as a leading man," he said. "As I've looked at his work over the last several years -- since I worked with him on [the 2004 remake of] "The Manchurian Candidate" -- it's really been extraordinary, but I'd see him play the second character here or the third character there. I wanted to see him as No. 1 on the call sheet. I wanted to see a piece played through his eyes."

The second season premiered on July 13.

The next episode of Ray Donovan will air on Sunday, September 7 on 8 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
