Donna Karan New York’s Spring 2015 Collection debuted earlier today (Sept. 8) at New York Fashion Week. Black and white prints, bold reds and subtle tans were featured on the runway as Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kendall Jenner closed the show. Donna Karan’s Spring 2015 Collection was a work of art. At points, it took a second look or an extra long stare to try and grasp what was happening before the audiences’ eyes on the three-row runway. A few pieces literally looked like canvases splattered with red paint, while others were bright red and intricately designed. All of the models wore simple singular braids and natural looking makeup to ensure the dresses stood out.

The only odd, and a bit confusing part of the show, were the Pharrell-like hats that several of the models wore. They were made by British designer Stephen Jones.

The juxtaposition of chaotic and controlled made Karan’s original line more interesting, and it certainly turned the heads of fashion icons like Anna Wintour, Nina Garcia and Andre Leon Talley. Celebrity stylist June Ambrose and the gorgeous Camila Alvarez were also in attendance.

After the show, Donna came out to do interviews and thanked the press for their time.

Fashion week newcomer Kendall Jenner walked the show in a red top and printed skirt. See the video below for her solo walk down the runway.

The show, overall, offered a new safari like inspiration for veteran designer Donna Karan.
