Just don't expect it to happen early in season 5.

Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) was written out of the series at the end of season 4, but the former Navy intelligence officer may eventually return from Afghanistan. When she does so, Catherine will definitely need to have an intense conversation with her boyfriend.

"I hope we get to have her on again," said showrunner Peter Lenkov, according to TV Fanatic. "We didn't resolve her story line on purpose because we were hoping we could bring her back at some point, but probably a little later on than sooner. I think we sort of want to build to a reunion between those two."

In the meantime, however, McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) will have a "mourning period" for a relationship that appears to be near its end.

"He's taking it hard," Lenkov explained to TV Guide. "There's still this mourning period, because even though they didn't break up... she chose to stay behind in Afghanistan, and that actually hurts. So it's definitely on his mind."
