In a pop culture where stars come and get go, Austin Mahone says he isn't going anywhere.

Fifth Harmony Thanks Austin Mahone For 'Best Summer Of Our Lives' After Summer Tour Wraps Up

Mahone told USA Today on Sunday that he wants to "grow" and be more than people expect him to be. "Whenever people see me, I'm a young dude and I sing, and I feel like they're just like, 'Oh, there's just another teen pop star. He's going to have a few songs,' " Mahone said. "But I want to be more than that. I want to grow, I want to challenge myself to be better and to be different. I want people to know I'm in it for the long run, so you better get used to me."

Mahone just wrapped up his summer tour with Fifth Harmony, The Vamps and Shawn Mendes last week and is heading to Mexico City for a few dates.

After that, Mahone is going to finish recording his first full-length album after releasing his EP The Secret in May. Although there's no official release date, Mahone said that he's "going to try to get this one done as soon as possible to get more material out."

So, what can fans expect? Maybe some country music since Mahone grew up in Texas. "I grew up listening to Garth Brooks," Mahone revealed. "I knew every song he was singing. Watching him perform, I took some mental notes so I can try to incorporate that into my show as well."
