It's been a while since a mother/daughter team has featured on The Amazing Race, and Shelley and Nici Porter of season 25 don't want to disappoint those who are eager to see them cross the finish line first.

"One of our mottos is go big or go home," Nici said in a pre-race interview with CBS.

"And we're not going home," Shelley added.

The mother/daughter duo, who hail from Detroit, Mich., believe that Nici's training from the military, as well as their jobs as flight attendants, will help them go far in the newest race around the world, because they're used to crazy schedules and stress levels.

"Our jobs give us the opportunity to travel to different places, meet different people of all cultures, were used to crazy schedules, were used to landing where you should be jetlagged but you can't, you have to keep moving to do whatever," Shelley said. "When you get 24 hours in a place for a layover, you don't want to waste it going to sleep, you're there for free! You'll nap later!"

However, the two do admit that they could have a flaw affecting them as they race, because they've been fans for a long time-and are prone to acting as "armchair quarterbacks."

"Armchair quarterbacking, we don't want that to happen, like when we're sitting at home and we're like, 'Why didn't you do this?' or 'Why didn't you do that?' That's more like where we're focused on," Nici said.

"It's easy to watch the race at home and judge, 'Oh I'd have done this differently,' or 'oh, I'd have done thst differently,' but when you're in the moment, it'd totally...your decision process on why you chose to do something is obviously different, because you're the person in it," Shelley added. "So we're hoping that all the armchair quarterbacking we've been doing over the years pays off and doesn't hurt us in the race. So if anything, that would maybe be the only fear, that we've watched too much."

Overall, the mother/daughter team will stop at nothing to ensure that they cross the finish line first and win the big $1 million prize.

"The only option is to finish first," Shelley said.

The Amazing Race season 25 premieres Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
