It appears that the finale of The Strain might come down to one epic conclusion with the possibe death of the Master.

FX TV Schedule 2014-2015

On Monday, Carter Matt posted a brief synopsis on the final episode of the season that leaves some questions as well as anticipation. Eph and Fet will recon for an assault that Setrakian assures will kill the Master. Meanwhile Gus will align himself with some sort of new force that could take the fight into an entirely different direction.

Even though this was all that was released, it still leaves some speculation on what the force that Gus comes across will entail. It could end up with a total loss in the battle with the Master or it could be the one thing that finishes him once and for all. There is also the possibility that the force will be something to watch out for in future episodes.

As for the odds of how many future episodes there will be, David Bradley who plays Abraham Setrakian, spoke with Vulture on how there is hope that the show will last longer than two seasons.

"The basic heart of it is in the books that Guillermo del Toro wrote with Chuck Hogan, but they take liberties and they've re-imagined it, rather than lifting it straight from the book. They took a risk doing that, but they've obviously got plans for it to make it last for three to five seasons," Bradley said. "So now that season two has the green light, hopefully they'll be able to start shooting it all the way through."

The season finale of The Strain will air on Sunday, October 5 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
