‘A To Z’ Spoilers: Cristin Milioti Talks New Show, Says Her Character Zelda Has ‘A Lot Of Walls’ Up & Is Too Fearful Of Connection To Andrew [VIDEO]
Her character's fate on the series finale of CBS' How I Met Your Mother angered scores of fans, but Cristin Milioti may be able to win them back with her newest TV show, A to Z.
The series, which chronicles the eight month long romance of Zelda (Milioti) and Andrew (Ben Feldman), premieres on NBC Oct. 2, and tackles how the two handle their ups and downs while they navigate the tricky world around them-but most importantly, chronicles how they handle their own vices and the way they affect their romance during the ticking clock that is eight months, three weeks, five days and one hour.
Speaking to TV Line, Milioti revealed that her new role will be incredibly different from the one she portrayed for the last season of the long-running CBS sitcom, and noted that it could make for an interesting scenario that plays out.
"Zelda has a lot of walls up and doesn't even know about some of the walls; she's the main problem," Milioti said. "Andrew would get married tomorrow. The conflict is Zelda, that she won't go there, that she always finds an excuse to not let go even though it's what she really, really, really wants...Zelda is much more fearful."
She also revealed that, much like the huge secret she was forced to keep concerning How I Met Your Mother, the fate of Andrew and Zelda's relationship on A to Z is also very secretive-but this time, even she doesn't know what will happen when the timeline on the romance supposedly ends.
"I think I differ greatly on this because I always like things to take a darker turn," she admitted. "I'm like, 'We'll they break up.' We don't know. [Creator] Ben [Queen] won't tell us. We did some promo thing where it was me, Feldman and Ben Queen in the center, and Ben Queen was like, 'What do you guys think happens?' and I was like, 'Well, they break up, obviously.' And then Ben Feldman thinks they get married.'"
The show's first episode, A is for Acquaintances, premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
